Used Car Sales, Car Servicing.

Establishment: In the late 1980s there were possibly only two or three car supermarket-sized sites in the UK. The concept of this idea was still in the early stages, but it was clear that there was a future for this new type retail alternative. It was in 1992 that the idea of creating a car supermarket first dawned on our founders, already running a group of small car sales sites in the Chesterfield / Sheffield area since the mid-1970s. The idea was to take each of the best elements from each of the smaller sites, and combine them on one large site. Acquiring and developing such a site would be a mammoth task, especially with expansion still happening at other areas within the group. However it was by chance that in 1994, a green field site was marked as a strong possibility, a little over two miles from the group's first premises(opened back in 1975). This site was successfully acquired and by mid-1995 development had begun.
