Founded in 1910 by Manning John Claybourn in Brisbane, Australia, Claybourn began with a mission to provide warm and dry clothing. Gaining fame after Prince Charles was photographed wearing a Claybourn coat in 1966, the brand has significantly evolved. In 1990, the Australian Coat Company, intent on preserving Australian ownership, acquired Claybourn. This expanded their range to include dryskins and pet accessories. In 2021, Peter Huang of JHC Holdings unified Claybourn and related businesses under one brand, aiming for global expansion while emphasizing Australian-made products.

Claybourn offers an extensive range of men's and women's clothing and accessories, including jackets, coats, activewear, and more. Known for their durable oilskin and dryskin jackets, they also feature an Urban Wax series and items for kids and pets.
