At Bristol Data Recovery, unlike other data recovery companies, we offer you a quote in advance. This way there can be no nasty surprises later on in the process. Before you send us your storage device we will talk you through the quote, a diagnosis of the problem, and how we aim to recover your data. Our prices are fixed unless the problem has been caused by mechanical damage. In which case there may be an additional charge but you can take comfort in the fact that we will establish this and cost accordingly before you proceed. When we produce a backup for you we will do so free of charge if the backup is less then 30GBs. If it is less than 30GBs we will save the data to DATA DVDs for you. Data recoveries that are larger than 30GBs require an external storage device onto which they can be saved and if you need one we can provide one for you, at a cost, from the large selection we carry.

A hard disk can fail for different reasons including mechanical failure(parts inside hard disk casing have become damaged such as a faulty hard disk motor, read / write heads or disk platter damage). Electronic failure is when the circuit chips on the PCB – printed circuit board have burned out. Firmware failure is when the factory firmware code on hard disk has become corrupted. Software failure is when the disk platters can not be read correctly from your hard disk and the result is your PC or Mac not booting up correctly or freezing when your PC or Mac is powered up. If you have the misfortune to have suffered a data loss through hardware failure our engineers are on hand to assist. Email or telephone us and speak to one of our highly skilled and friendly engineers who will offer a diagnosis as to the nature of the problem. We can then offer you a no obligation quote that will include a fixed price(return delivery of your data included). If you are interested and wish to continue the process, pack your device up securely and send it to us via Royal Mail registered or special delivery, or courier it to us. Packaging the device securely reduces the chances of movement and further damage in transit and ensures it arrives to us in as good a physical condition as possible even though it has perhaps failed to function. If you are local to us why not call into your nearest Data Recovery centre; our engineers will be more than happy to speak to you. If you canÂ’t visit us you will find a downloadable shipping form on the Contact Us page that you can use to make sure we have all of your contact details.
It normally takes 2-3 days to recover the data from a faulty drive and when it has been securely stored to our servers the engineer will contact you by telephone to explain what has been done. At the same time you will also receive an email detailing the exact nature of the recoveryÂ’s contents including screenshots and a full directory listing. If you are happy with this we ask that you verify the data and make full payment so that we can arrange for a physical copy of the backup can be sent out to you via next day courier.
