The fatal error is emitted before the installation of the offending file takes place. Some CPack generators, like ``NSIS``, enforce this internally. This variable triggers the definition of :variable:`CMAKE_ERROR_ON_ABSOLUTE_INSTALL_DESTINATION` when CPack runs.
